Mana Baoosh
Mana Baoosh is a photographer, filmmaker, and writer living in the UK. She started her photographic practice in Iran in 2014. Since 2020, Baoosh has been based in Cardiff. She has exhibited her work at numerous institutions, often working in collaboration with organisations such as Welsh National Opera, St. Fagans National Museum of History and Oasis Cardiff.
Her current project The Museum of Diaspora centres on the lived experiences, migration journeys, and narratives of marginalised and underrepresented communities. In this project Baoosh explores the chasm between the perception of the refugee experience, which is a fundamentally altered reality, and the traumatic truth. As part of the museum, there will be a protest aimed at challenging the portrayal of refugees and asylum seekers in the media.

Ffotograffydd, gwneuthurwr ffilm, a llenor sy’n byw yn y DU yw Mana Baoosh. Dechreuodd ei harfer ffotograffig yn Iran yn 2014. Ers 2020, mae Baoosh wedi ei lleoli yng Nghaerdydd. Mae hi wedi arddangos ei gwaith mewn sawl sefydliad, yn aml yn cydweithredu gyda mudiadau fel Opera Cenedlaethol Cymru, Amgueddfa Werin Cymru Sain Ffagan ac Oasis Caerdydd.
Mae ei phrosiect bresennol The Museum of Diaspora yn cwmpasu profiadau byw, teithiau mudo, a naratifau cymunedau ymylol ac sydd wedi eu tan-gynrychioli. Yn y prosiect yma mae Baoosh yn archwilio’r cerwyn rhwng canfyddiad profiadau ffoaduriaid, sydd yn realiti sydd yn sylfaenol wedi altro, a’r gwirionedd trawmatig. Fel ran o’r amgueddfa, fydd yna protest wedi anelu at herio portreadaeth ffoaduriaid a cheiswyr lloches yn y cyfryngau.
